The final workshop in the series of four is scheduled for Wednesday 4 March, 2 to 5pm. Hosted by Business West at Park House in Swindon, the session will feature Swindon Wildcats head coach Aaron Nell and Team-i’s Tim Thurston.
Topics covered will be how to manage performance; how we are motivated; effective decision making and how to effective delegate.
A second programme of four workshops has been agreed, details to follow shortly.
We will show you how an elite sports team has achieved their success and by learning from their experiences you can increase the engagement and performance of your team, which will increase the profitability of your business.
The Wildcats have had their most successful season since their formation, winning their league title and setting a new winning streak record of seventeen games.
Team-i have worked with Wildcats’ Head Coach Aaron Nell to firstly understand how this phenomenal success has been achieved and then break it down to its core components, so that the key factors of the success can be understood and applied to business.
You can get first hand insight into these key factors from Aaron, as he and Team-i’s Tim Thurston deliver a series of unique workshops that will show how the Wildcats achieved their success and how you can apply the key factors to your business.
The workshops will cover the following:
Workshop 1 on Wednesday 18 September 2019, 2 to 5pm:
How the Wildcats created a winning culture by putting the team first.
How the Wildcats changed their approach to recruitment and resourcing so that they could attract the best talent within their budget and utilise it effectively.
Workshop 3 on Tuesday 21 January 2020, 2 to 5pm:
The leadership style that Aaron developed that allowed him to be effective when both coaching and playing. How leaders were developed within the team, who influenced performance.
Workshop 4 date to be confirmed:
How performance was managed and strategies we developed to beat the competition.
All of these topics are essential to the success of any business, this is a unique opportunity to hear how the key elements for each can be implemented into a team to make it elite.
From the workshops you will not only have a good understanding of how the Wildcats’ success was achieved, you will also have a framework that you can use to create a development plan for your business.
Those booking all four workshops will get a group discount and will be invited to watch a Wildcats game on Saturday 16 November, following which Aaron Nell will give the group a de-brief on the team’s performance.
Team-i have teamed up with Punchline Live to deliver a training event that demonstrates how the key elements of a high performing sports teams can be integrated into your business.

After successful days with our partners at the Bear trail, further dates for 2019 will be released soon.
The fun course with learning at its core will take place at The Bear Trail’s beautiful HQ in the Mid Devon countryside and will give delegates the chance to learn all about how the secrets of winning rugby players can be translated into success in business…while also being able to get out into the great outdoors to test their teamwork and leadership skills.
With special guests, such as Carl Rimmer, Premiership-winning rugby player and a veteran of the professional game who has racked up almost 90 appearances for the Exeter Chiefs, will be sharing insight on how the skills learned and honed in the dressing room and executed on the pitch are equally transferable to business
The course combines a unique and engaging team building session with incisive and interactive classroom teachings. Team-i’s bespoke training programme demonstrates the nine-point plan which all workplace teams should follow if they want to maximise their opportunities for success.
The Bear Trail enables teams to work together to solve challenging outdoor problems on its 10-acre site near Cullompton, improve communication in a new environment and discover hidden talents through pushing their peer engagement.

The launch of Team-i’s unique suite of training programmes took place in the plush surroundings of Dean Clarke House in Exeter…home of leading property development and investment company Burrington Estates.
A selection of hand-picked South West business leaders were invited to attend a bespoke morning at which Tim Thurston and Kai Horstmann of Team-i demonstrated their course programme and gave examples of how the curriculum could be adapted for companies in a variety of ways.
Tim explains: “Dean Clarke House is as a fantastic meeting space and we are grateful to Mark Edworthy, MD of Burrington Estates, for offering us this facility. He was impressed when Kai and I initially spoke to him about our plans – so much so that he offered us the chance to demonstrate to key businesses hosted at his company HQ.
Those invited on the day included representatives from businesses such as Devon County Council, Prydis Wealth, Redrok, Keane & Parker, the Organic Agency and Buddy Creative.
Kai and Tim led them in a bespoke training session which gave an overview of the nine-point Team-i and invited comment and interaction on the new programme.
Tim adds: “It was great for us to go ‘live’ with the programme in such prestigious company. Both Kai and I found it was a great exercise in demonstrating what we know businesses can learn from our programme.
“I am pleased to say we had inquiries for follow-up business afterwards and we were delighted to get positive feedback in person on the day.”
Marc Edworthy of Burrington Estates says:
“I am both fascinated by the comparisons between elite sport and successful business also a big fan of Kai. Therefore, I am delighted to help support the launch of this ambitious training company. It has been great to experience some of the training content first hand from which I have already implemented a couple of ideas from the sporting world into our business”
